MADITRACE Hosts Side Event on Battery Traceability at Li-ion Battery Europe 2025 in Barcelona

12 Nov 2025

On November 4, the MADITRACE project successfully hosted the side event “Enabling Transparency in the Battery Value Chain” in Barcelona, as part of the Li-ion Battery Europe 2025 conference, in collaboration with EIT RawMaterials.

The session brought together leading experts, industry representatives, and key stakeholders to explore how traceability solutions can support the evolving needs of the European battery sector. Discussions focused on the role of digital product passports, data interoperability, and advanced tracking technologies in ensuring compliance with the EU Battery Regulation while fostering a more sustainable and circular battery ecosystem.

Throughout the event, speakers addressed a wide range of topics, from regulatory frameworks and certification schemes to practical demonstrations of blockchain-based traceability systems and material tracking solutions. These insights highlighted how transparency is increasingly becoming a key driver of innovation, trust, and competitiveness across the battery value chain.

The event also emphasized the importance of collaboration and openness in connecting industries, regions, and stakeholders, reinforcing the shared commitment to building a responsible and resilient battery ecosystem in Europe.
